WWE SmackDown began with The Miz and his wife Maryse hosting Miz TV with special guest and WWE superstar John Cena. Miz blamed Cena for taking away opportunities. Miz criticised Cena for going ot Hollywood just like The Rock. John Cena replied saying that if he had his way he would have been facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania. John Cena also told Miz that he was a rip off of other WWE superstars. Maryse then slapped John Cena, that led Cena’s real-life girlfriend Nikki Bella to come out. Miz and Maryse ran off the stage. John Cena and Nikki Bella then shared a few hugs and smooched each other as the crowd went wild. Later, they also challenged Carmella and James Ellsworth to a match on the next SmackDown show.
Becky Lynch faced Mickie James in a 2 out of 3 falls match. Mickie James picked the first win with a DDT. Becky Lynch made a comeback with a quick roll up to even the score. When SmackDown women’s champion entered to distract Becky Lynch, Mickie James accidently hit her which helped Becky to pin Mickie James with the dis-arm-her to win the match.
AJ Styles faced Luke Harper for the number one contender’s match at WrestleMania for Bray Wyatt’s WWE title. AJ Styles pinned Harper, but the latter’s foot were on the ropes which caused Shane McMahon to restart the match. After Harper hit Shane McMahon by mistake, AJ Styles hit Luke Harper to win the match.
Dean Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on Curt Hawkins before their match and called out Baron Corbin. Ambrose warned Corbin that it was a bad idea to mess with him. Corbin replied via a promo that he would inflict pain on Dean Ambrose.
Dolph Ziggler faced Apollo Crews in a chairs match. Crews looked in control by using the chairs for his maneuvers against Ziggler, but he kicked out. Dolph Ziggler tripped Apollo Crews on a chair, hitting his throat, he then threw him on the chair hitting Crews’ crotch. Ziggler then pinned him for the win.
As Bray Wyatt came out for his ‘invocation’, Randy Orton appeared via the titantron, in the Wyatt compound. Randy Orton told Bray Wyatt that he was never part of the team and will burn Wyatt’s kingdom along with Sister Abigail. Randy Orton told Bray Wyatt that he would come for his WWE title at WrestleMania and then set the Wyatt compound on fire.
